The battery
Every BLUETTI runs on LiFePO4, the same chemistry premium EVs use. Safer, cleaner, and far longer-lasting than standard lithium-ion. BLUETTI portable power stations are available in more than 120 countries, including New Zealand at Burnsco.
Traditional NCM batteries contain nickel, cobalt and manganese. LiFePO4 batteries contain no harmful heavy metals, need no active maintenance, and have no memory effect, so you can store them for long stretches without that kind of degradation.
They are non-toxic, emit no harmful gases in use, and are easier to recycle.
LiFePO4 stays thermally stable under load. BLUETTI cells make less heat while charging and discharging, which cuts risk, extends life, and skips the need for heavy active cooling. That is the station you can leave in a hot van, a tight RV locker, or an off-grid cabin.
The discharge curve stays flat. Output stays consistent from 100% down to about 20%, so sensitive gear is not chasing a falling voltage.
Rated for 2,500 to 3,500 cycles before 80% capacity. Used weekly, that is well over a decade. Up to five times longer than lead-acid, and more than twice standard lithium-ion.

A BLUETTI portable power station is a large rechargeable battery with AC outlets, USB ports and DC connections. It stores electricity from a wall outlet, solar panels or your car's alternator, then delivers clean, silent energy for outages and outdoor trips.
Smaller units like the AC2P handle phones, laptops and lighting. The AC70P and AC180P can run power tools, CPAP machines and small fridges. The Premium 200 V2 can cover a campsite or home backup. Match the station's rated output to the device's wattage.
Divide capacity in watt-hours by the device's draw in watts. A 1,000Wh station running a 100W fridge is roughly 8–10 hours once inverter losses are included.
LiFePO4 cells are rated for 2,500–3,500 cycles before 80% capacity. Used once a week, that is well over a decade. Daily use still commonly means 7–10 years before a noticeable drop.
From a wall outlet, solar panels, a 12V car socket, or a DC-DC alternator charger while driving. Many models charge from more than one source at once. Turbo Charging in the app takes select models from flat to full in about 1.5–2 hours.
On models such as the AC180P, Power Lifting Mode raises output past the rated wattage for heating loads like space heaters, hair dryers and electric blankets, up to 2,700W. It is not meant for motor-driven appliances.

Most current models connect to the free Power Sense app over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi for live monitoring, remote control, charge schedules and firmware updates.
Use BLUETTI panels for a known match. Third-party panels need to stay inside the station's open-circuit voltage and max power, and use MC4 connectors. Check the manual for that model's solar input limit.
Most portable stations are splash-resistant, not fully waterproof. Some models, including the AC240 and AC60, carry a water-resistance rating. Check the product page for the IP rating.
