Nomad lures are made for anglers who expect more from every cast

Nomad Design creates premium saltwater fishing lures for serious anglers who demand reliability, strength, and consistent action. Every Nomad lure is developed through extensive on water testing, targeting hard fighting pelagic species in some of the toughest fishing conditions. From inshore casting to offshore trolling, Nomad Design lures are built to perform under pressure. Advanced materials, proven construction systems, and precise tuning ensure each lure swims true, holds its line, and maintains balance even at high speeds or after repeated strikes. When conditions are unpredictable and the fish are unforgiving, Nomad delivers performance you can trust.

Saltwater lures with intentional, innovative design

Innovation driven by real world fishing

Nomad Design products are engineered with a clear purpose to create fishing lures that perform exactly as anglers expect in real conditions. Every shape, bib angle, and internal weighting system is carefully designed to produce consistent action across a wide range of retrieve speeds and water conditions. Rather than relying on theory alone, Nomad lures are tested extensively by experienced anglers targeting species such as tuna, kingfish and other powerful predators. This real world approach ensures reliable swimming action, accurate tracking, and dependable performance whether you're casting structure or trolling open water.

Every product is built to withstand the fight

Strength, balance, and durability combined

Durability is critical when targeting aggressive saltwater species, and Nomad Design lures are built to handle extreme pressure. Reinforced bodies, full through wire construction, and impact resistant materials ensure strength is never compromised even during prolonged fights or violent strikes. Protective finishes and advanced construction systems help Nomad lures maintain their integrity and appearance over time, reducing damage from teeth, structure, and repeated use. The result is a fishing lure that not only performs cast after cast, but continues to deliver confidence long after the first strike.

Born from real world fishing

Fifteen years of charter fishing led to innovative design

After more than fifteen years operating Nomad Sportfishing Adventures in the remote NE Coast of Australia, founder Damon Olsen and the Nomad Design team crafted a range of unique lures for the toughest predators. Targeting giant trevally, thousand pound black marlin, and huge dogtooth tuna in the Coral Sea, they found gaps in the market and products simply not up to the job. Not willing to settle, Damon put his engineering background to work, developing lures that would perform perfectly for the most demanding bluewater predators.

Tested in the toughest conditions

Years of development and real world testing

The first four lure models - Madscad, Riptide, Chug Norris, and Maverick - went through a rigorous three year design and testing process. This led to the development of Matrix Metal plate and Gorilla Through Wire designs for ultimate strength, along with HD ABS plastic bodies and foam filling. The Nomad Design logo guarantees that every product has been tested to withstand the toughest fishing conditions, with years of on water experience applied to make your fishing more fun and rewarding.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently Asked Questions: Nomad fishing

Practical answers to common questions about choosing, rigging, and fishing Nomad Design lures in saltwater conditions.

Nomad lures are engineered specifically for saltwater fishing, with reinforced bodies, tuned weighting, and hardware designed to handle aggressive strikes and high drag pressure. They are built to track consistently, even at speed or in rough water, making them reliable for offshore and inshore applications.
Start by matching lure size and action to the baitfish in your area. For pelagic species like tuna and kingfish, high-speed trolling lures and stickbaits excel. For reef edges and structure, casting and subsurface lures allow better control and depth management.
Most Nomad lures are designed to swim correctly straight out of the box. If a lure ever tracks slightly off, minor adjustments to the tow point can fine-tune its action. Always test beside the boat before committing to a long troll.
A medium-heavy to heavy rod, quality braid, and an abrasion-resistant leader matched to local structure works best. Smooth drag settings help maintain lure action while providing enough pressure to control powerful fish.
Most Nomad trolling lures perform best between 6–9 knots, depending on model and conditions. Some designs are built for higher speeds, allowing anglers to cover more water without losing action or stability.
Rinse lures thoroughly in fresh water, allow them to dry, and inspect hooks and split rings for wear. Proper storage helps maintain finish, prevent corrosion, and ensure your lures are ready when the bite window opens.
