Covid-19 Update

Dear Customers

NZ is now at Covid-10 Alert Level 3.  What does this mean for our online operations?

Keeping customers and staff safe is, and will remain, the top priority for Burnsco.

At Level 3:

  • All customer service and web systems processing will continue to be done remotely by staff working individually in their own locations
  • Stringent cleaning and disinfecting procedures are followed daily in each fulfilment location before work commences
  • All our staff are trained in policies and procedures designed specifically to ensure safe operations at Level 3. These include being trained in, and practising, high standards of hand and respiratory hygiene, including washing their hands, at the start of, and frequently during, their shift
  • Any staff feeling unwell or displaying any symptoms of illness do not attend work.  The same applies if someone in their household bubble is unwell.  We have numerous fulfilment locations and can seamlessly switch fulfilment of your order to another location in this situation.
  • Wherever more than one person is working in a location, strict rules apply, and work planning made, so that appropriate physical distancing is maintained throughout the shift. A variety of other steps are followed to back this up, such as avoiding sharing equipment, taking breaks separately, only using own food and kitchenware etc.
  • Orders are despatched via contactless processes implemented with our couriers.
  • No physical contact between our staff and customers occurs. Our physical stores remain closed to the public.

During Alert Level 3, our staff are in all our stores in small teams working separately on different days.  As well as fulfilling your orders, staff are available to talk to you by phone on your regular store landline numbers.  Calls will continue to be taken through the Webstore as well – 0800 10 20 41.

Contactless Click and Collect by customers is available at the store front door during normal store opening hours.  Please read the instructions on your order confirmation email carefully.   If you need to wait for your turn, please keep at least 2 metres away from other customers in the queue.  

To facilitate effective contact tracing by the authorities (should this arise), all customers are required to be a Burnsco Cardholder or otherwise supply their name, address and mobile number when placing their order. 

We’ve come a long way in Level 4.  Let’s finish the job properly at Level 3!
