The Shimano Corvalus range of reels, are suited to everything from slow jigging and softbaiting for snapper, blue cod, kahawai and john dory, to inshore trolling for kingfish and offshore for skipjack and albacore tuna. Each has a die-cast aluminium frame, aluminium side plates and spool, three A-RB bearings and one stainless steel roller bearing, a non-disengaging level wind system, Super Stopper and Assist Stopper, and a quick take-down system for easy maintenance. The gear ratios are all 5.2:1, to suit most fishing applications, and the Variable Brake System controls precise casts and lessens the possibilities of over runs.
