Southern Regional Manager

RETAIL CHAMPION REQUIRED TO LEAD OUR SOUTHERN REGION BRANCHES

We are looking for a retail champion to be the new Regional Manager (RM) for our 7 branches south of the Bombay Hills - Hamilton, Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Wellington, Waikawa, Nelson and Christchurch.  

Both branch managers and cluster managers in these locations report directly to the RM, who is responsible for maintaining our high standards of customer service and operations in the network, and creating and disseminating best practice.  This varied role covers HR (recruitment, rostering, reviewing and developing staff), stock (stock control, merchandising), and branch operations.

Burnsco’s managers are widely recognised as best in class retailers.  So their team leader needs to have extensive retail management experience, familiarity with employment law, a motivating and positive personality, the ability to handle a wide range of issues competently and sensitively, a firm and personable manner, and great organisational skills.

While primarily a Monday to Friday role, some weekend and public holiday working will be required to provide emergency cover or when opening new branches.

Since the RM has a regular rotation of visits to each branch and to our Support Office in East Auckland, travel and staying away from home are required on a regular basis every month.

Requirements for this role:

 

  • you will have extensive retail management experience and really understand the drivers of retail success
  • be passionate about our product areas with practical boating, and/or RV experience
  • be keen to personify our customer service culture
  • have a high level of competency in handling a range of HR matters
  • have a clean full driving licence and be able to travel extensively
  • be hands on and happy to have a 'on your feet' job
  • be able to do weekend work, as required
