- Collision Avoidance: Cortex smartAIS continuously monitors AIS information from other boats and calculates crossing situations, generates collision alarms and provides easy-to-understand avoidance cues. Data from its built-in heading sensor is also broadcast, so other vessels can clearly identify which direction your boat is moving.
- One Touch DSC: Cortex lets you initiate DSC direct calls with other vessels by simply tapping the vessel icon on your handset. Initiate VHF calls to friends or quickly hail another vessel when every second counts.
- Anchor Watch: Whether you’re onboard or ashore, you can know for sure your boat is securely anchored. Cortex smartAIS accurately tracks boat movement, heading and bow position, alerting you if your anchor drags.

- Clear and Loud: The Cortex VHF radio puts out up to 85 dBA of powerful, crystal-clear audio, so you won’t miss critical communications. Alerts are voice prompts that will tell you what the alert is instead of ambiguous alarms. In a potential collision situation the voice prompt will tell you direction of threat so you know quickly where to look.
- Never Miss a Word: Constant squelch control adjustment gives clear listening performance. It is able to monitor all active VHF channels simultaneously, and record them for playback period so you can re listen if you missed critical information
- Horn and Loudspeaker: Easily preset horn signals or talk to the boat through your loudspeaker with the handset or your smart phone using the Cortex Onboard App.
- NMEA 2000 networking allows you to view Cortex data on your connected MFDs and chartplotters.
