3M's finishing system for oxidised gelcoat and painted surfaces. Cut, polish, then protect.
Step 1
Cut through heavy oxidation and sanding marks with Perfect-It Heavy Cutting Compound and a wool or foam pad. Work in sections and keep the surface wet.
Step 2
Take out swirls and haze with Perfect-It Light Cutting Polish on a finishing pad. This is the step a lot of people skip before waxing.
Step 3
Finish with Perfect-It Boat Wax for gloss and UV protection. Apply thin coats and buff off for a finish that should last the season.

Whether you are bedding a through hull again, compounding oxidised gelcoat or prepping for a topside repaint, you'll find the gear here.
3M 5200 is the usual pick for permanent bonds above and below the waterline, like keel joints, hull to deck seams and through hull bedding. If you might need to remove the hardware later, use 3M 4000 UV instead. Burnsco carries a few cartridge sizes, including 5200FC for tighter spaces.
Perfect-It is a simple three-step system. Heavy Cutting Compound knocks back heavy oxidation, Light Cutting Polish cleans up the surface, and Boat Wax protects the gloss against UV and salt. With the right pad, you can get a strong finish on gelcoat and paint without wet sanding every job.
3M Wetordry and Gold sandpaper sheets are useful for fairing, knocking back defects and paint prep. Masking Film, green 233+ tape and ScotchBlue painter's tape keep overspray off nearby surfaces. Pair that with 3M cleaning pads and adhesive cleaner so bonding surfaces are clean before you start.
