What is the correct way to measure a steering cable for replacement?
Follow these steps to measure how long your mechanical steering cable should be:
- Add these values: the length from the wheel to the boat's edge, the length of the boat edge, and the length from the boat edge to the outboard engine.
- Subtract 10 cm for every 90 degree bend.
- Add 20.5 cm to your total length.
