A: This is a water hose and is measured by ID, fittings to go with it would be OD, ie just buy a 25mm fitting to go with a 25mm hose.

I bought this hose in 38mm and received ribbed hose which is different to the picture. How do I clamp the ribbed hose given that a normal hose clamp doesn't seem like it will make a complete seal?

As long as this is not used on high pressure Our wide body hose clips will work on ribbed drinking water hose. You can also double clamp if you are concerned.
