Alternative Transducer Upgrades - What is required?
So you want to go deeper and would like to purchase a 1kw transducer that allows for deeper depth readings, we have listed a couple of options below to keep things simple.
Option 1: Airmar TM260 Traditional 50/200 kHz 1kw Transom Transducer
This is a single plug 1kw transducer, as the HDS Pro has 2 individual sonar plugs in the back, simply plug this transducer into Sonar port 1, your Active Imaging transducer (which comes with this unit) into plug 2 and you are away, no other module required!
Option 2: Airmar TM275LH-W CHIRP 1kw Transom Transducer
As this is a dual frequency (Low CHIRP 42-65kHz)(High CHIRP 150-250kHz) it has a 2 plug connection. As there is only 2 plugs in the back of the HDS Pro head unit a module is required. This module amplifies the power therefore giving you a better sonar definition on your headunit while also giving you additional sonar ports. There are 2 options, the S5100 or the new S3100. Simply connect your headunit with the module via supplied ethernet cable, plug your TM275 transducer cables into the module (this will give a better reading than plugging into your headunit) and your supplied Active imaging transducer into Sonar port 2 on your headunit and you are away!
