The body of the reel is constructed from machined aluminium and includes a one piece cold forged aluminium spool, both of these are made to withstand massive drag pressures and the waterproofed drag system (when reel is engaged) handles salt water spray as you are travelling to or from your fishing locations. We recommend using hollow core braid (like the Edge 16x hollowcore) on this reel as it increases the line capacity, and if your are fishing IGFA or tournaments then a top shot of 24kg or 37kg monofilament.
