This model does not have NZ maps. Has GPS for basic navigation, saving waypoints and following trails.

Can I power a Lowrance Hook2-4XGPS to a cigarette lighter socket on my boat. Is there anything special I would need to do regarding the fuse. I am thinking of getting a cigarette lighter plug which has an 8amp fuse built in and + & - cables attached.

Yes, you can but ensure you use the 3A fuses provided with the Lowrance
