The Shimano Hyperloop 6000 is a great entry level, medium sized spinning reel suitable for kids aged 6+ (it may be a little heavy for your little little ones). The Hyperloop has a front drag, one ball bearing (plus an additional roller bearing), a graphite body, and it comes spooled, ready to go with monofilament line, making it perfect for light to medium fishing applications.
Matched with a 6'0'' purple Shimano Kidstix 8-12kg rod making it perfect for fishing from the boat, wharves and piers.
