Description

One of the most common techniques for catching snapper in New Zealand is straylining, and when it comes to stray lining the Shimano Baitrunner 8000 OC combo is one of the greats! Being medium in size it is versatile and easy to use for a wide range of anglers. Plenty of line capacity, 9kg of smooth drag, a manageable weight at only 590 grams and a solid 4.8:1 gear ratio, there is a reason why this is one of the biggest selling reels in it's field.
Matched with the 7' 6-10kg Shimano Aquatip rod, this is perfect for targeting snapper, kahawai, trevally, gurnard and blue cod and will even deal to the odd kingfish if you play your cards right!
