Is this OK to use in a tub to rinse off wetsuits?
Question by: Gavin on 19/11/2021, 10:18 am
Hi Gavin. The supplier has recommended you use 1 part to 80 parts water dilution to rinse your wetsuits, but you must then rinse thoroughly afterwards.

Answer The Question

Should Salt Slayer be rinsed off fibreglass gel coat with fresh water? The instructions on the bottle do not say. The boat looked good for a few days, but after a few weeks the gel coat is dull again, except on the underside, and is reluctant to take a polish. I have heard that Salt Away causes gel coats to go dull unless rinsed off.

Also, what is the difference between Salt Slayer and Salt Away or Salt Terminator?
Question by: Bill Dashfield on 14/02/2022, 5:15 pm
Salt Away claim it is safe to leave to dry on all surfaces though some report it reduces the life of the waxes in the polishes. While it is strongly recommended to let the product dry on all metal surfaces for the protection it gives them against corrosion, it does little to let it dry on paint or gel coat so if you are experiencing a dulling of the shine you may choose to rinse it off. All 3 of the products use Sodium Nitrate or similar as their active ingredient so function in a similar way to each other.
