These are an unbranded switch but made to Burnsco's exacting specs oveseas.

Is the LED light ring a back light or comes on when power is supplied via the switch.

According to the supplier's website - LED light rings configurable to be push-on (power indication) or always on (back lighting).

What is the aperture size needed for this switch please? Any dimensions diagrams?

What size is the nut for securing and the overlap of the switch size. For a 22mm aperture, the switch will go in nicely BUT just need to understand if the front will overlap the gap and the rear will secure correctly.
