Description

Pair of wooden oars manufactured from New Zealand Pine.
  • Robust, strong, durable and lightweight
  • Laminated, finely sanded and grain sealed before varnishing
  • To assist in selecting the length of oar required, as a general guide the length should be 40 - 50% greater than the boat's beam. Some of the variables that may affect the length required are, distance between rowlocks, the free board (height of boat sides), sea state, wind strength, rowers strength, skill and experience. Longer oars allow for greater rowing efficiency. Shorter oars might be better suited to the novice rower.
  • Range of sizes available.
  • 1.5m & 1.65m oars have 40mm shafts. Oars longer than 1.8m have 44mm shafts.
